Week 3 - Reasoning, Creativity & Collaboration: How Are They Connected?
Inferential
reasoning, creativity and collaboration are all connected due to various thought
processes, learning processes, and the utilization of communication and
interpersonal skills. Chapter 5 in How
People Learn II discusses various learning and thought processes, what kind
of reasoning is used in various stages of learning, and strategies that have
been empirically proven to enhance the understanding and integration of
knowledge. Utilizing a creative and collaborative learning environment may be a
key driving factor to enhance students’ skills in regard to understanding and
integrating knowledge into cross-applicable concepts.

Hi Megan!
ReplyDeleteI really love how you went into the specifics on some of the learning strategies in chapter five. I ran out of space to get into the specifics, so I love how your info-graphic captures something that I thought was essential to the chapter in a clear format. Collaborative learning spaces are super important to the Gura chapters, and I like how you give that interpersonal experience it's own place within the context of this assignment. Inferential reasoning is so hard to teach sometimes because it can be frustrating, but I think that you were right to include it here. Students tend to learn better when they connect information with prior knowledge instead of just learning it. Good post!

Hi Megan!
ReplyDeleteI also love your infographic! It clearly stated the key ideas from the reading with great graphics. I really resonate with the idea of how vital summarizing and drawing is in the learning process. Another idea that I love you brought into the infographic describes the significance of collaboration. There are so many benefits to collaborative learning spaces and love to use them in the classroom. Great read!!

Collaboration is key! Your infographic is easy to follow and has wonderful information! Students thrive when given the chance to learn in a collaborative space. The "Global Collaborator" standard ties in perfectly with your information and proves that teaching students how to work together to solve problems is a skill that they will absolutely need in their future endeavors. Thank you for your post!
